I've been having great fun playing with color this past couple of months!
This is an improv piece I created with scraps from another project. When I had it all finished I was anxious about how to quilt it - I have never done line stitching, so I gave it a go, and I'm happy with the outcome! 28.5" w x 32" h
This next piece, I started with a color wheel block designed by Susan Kephart for Robert Kaufman called Prismatic Medallions. I then altered it using notan art - and made it my own. I look back now, and think I should of spent some time planning out the free motion quilting - I can tell I was out of practice a bit at the beginning of quilting it, but just keep on. I thought the hands in the piece added to the joy of the quilt. 35"w x 43"h
I also wanted to try stitching with yarn to create a portrait - A first attempt. I stitched on lutradur fabric that I dyed- a polyester fabric-like material. I will definitely try again!
We cant forget Buttons! I just LOVE LOVE all these plastic buttons, and its fun to see them out on a display, done in log cabin quilt style! I had created this for the National Button Society creative challenge for their upcoming show "Life is like a Circus". 2022
Something else I've been experimenting with - Making my own buttons! Isn't this Laurel Burch fabric fabulous made into buttons! 2022
Another attempt to show off my buttons in a colorful way. More and more I love plastic buttons over any other type! made is 2022
